ABOUT NEST MUM & BABY

​NEST MUM & BABY was created by Nicola Knuckles — a local mum of three whose journey through motherhood has shaped every chapter of her professional life. ​Nicola’s career began in financial PR and marketing, working with international brands until the birth of her first son twelve years ago.

That experience had a profound impact on her, sparking an interest in maternal care that she carried quietly for years. But as a young mum — and later a single parent — it wasn’t the right time to change careers completely. ​When her children reached school age, Nicola returned to work, joining an aesthetics academy.

Surrounded by some of the profession’s brightest medical minds, she absorbed everything she could. After a great deal of persistence (and gentle nagging), they agreed to train her. A few years later, she opened her first skin clinic.​

Working with her female clients every day became more than a job. In treatment rooms, clients would open up about the realities of modern family life — the beauty and the struggle, the joy and the pressure, the loneliness that often sits right alongside love. Listening to these stories reignited the pull Nicola had felt since becoming a mother herself: a desire to return to maternal care and support families more directly.​

Eventually, she followed that instinct — beginning her training in midwifery and as a doula, and creating ​NEST MUM & BABY as a natural extension of that calling.

​NEST MUM & BABY is her way of bringing clarity, connection and support to families who are often raising children without the “village” previous generations relied on. The magazine offers trustworthy information, local services, community stories and playful activities for little ones — created with passion, compassion and a genuine love for families.​ NESST exists to give parents a place to turn, a network to lean on, and a sense that they’re not navigating it all alone.​
